Redesigning LOGOS

I was so not aware of the new GAP logo, and now I understand why. The company reverted back to the original logo in less than a week after a huge backlash of criticism from designers and consumers. That is actually hilarious to me. I understand that companies desire to create a new brand image after a while, but I wonder if they realize that most people do not like change. It's not an easy task to successfuly change a logo after consumers have seen and breathed it for over twenty years. People recognize logos, and if companies take away what is familiar to them, well, expect craziness. I'm just sayin'.

A classmate from my typography class posted a link of logo redesign disasters. Take a look and enjoy!
